Using our reserves, we've fully funded and implemented critical equipment like the Laparoscopic Surgery Set (CAD $13,502), enabling a 74% surge in surgeries. Achievements to Date:
- Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) & Interferential Therapy Units (CAD 1,350.16): Equipped the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR) department with two therapy units to relieve chronic pain for patients, including the elderly and post-surgical cases.
- Patient Bed Safety Railings (CAD 1,181.39): Stainless welding equipment enabled BCH to install 10 pairs of safety railings to prevent falls, ensuring a secure recovery for vulnerable patients. Additionally, the hospital completed a trolley for the laparoscopic set, and is working on another to enable other medical equipment to be transported as needed.
- Laparoscopic Surgery Set (CAD 13,501.60): By enabling minimally invasive surgeries including appendectomies, this equipment reduced recovery time and complications for patients, and supported a 74% surge in surgical procedures, particularly in obstetrics and gynecology.
